What is SmartLipo?
SmartLipo is at the cutting edge of cosmetic fat reduction. This remarkable new treatment available at Snowberry Lane Clinic uses a laser to melt away unwanted fat and provides a great alternative to traditional liposuction which can be painful, cause bruising and is more invasive.
How does SmartLipo work?
SmartLipo is carried out under local anaesthetic. A 1mm laser is inserted through the skin at the point where the fat is to be reduced. The laser is heated to 45ºC the melting the membranes of each fat cell, which then causes them to break down. The fat becomes liquid, which is then naturally dispersed by the body over a period of 5 to 6 weeks. Simultaneously, the laser seals-off minor blood vessels whilst stimulating collagen production to give a smooth, sculptured finish.

Aspiration is a technique used in conjunction with SmartLipo to enhance results. Using gentle suction, it removes some of the fat that has been liquified immediately after the SmartLipo procedure, giving a more immediate effect.
